IWorkers who are pregnant have special protections under WV law.n addition to other legal protections for employees, West Virginia employers that fall under the West Virginia Human Rights Act cannot discriminate or harass women who are pregnant. West Virginia's Pregnant Workers' Fairness Act (PWFA) prohibits discrimination or harassment against women affected by pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, i.e., physical or mental symptoms or limitations relating to or caused by pregnancy.

Employers are also required to provide pregnant workers with reasonable accommodations, such as modifying work schedules and adhering to physical limitations set by the employee’s doctor.
